I do not know the tensile strength but it’s plastic and I do not think it could bear much weight. It stretches easily.

you can use it anywhere, but it's not going to stop something from crossing it. It is very lightweight and designed as a visual barrier more than a physical barrier. I'm sure it will nit meet safety standards for pool security.
