    We are very, very pleased to offer this
    museum worthy,
    Indian sterling silver
    figural tea tray.
    A gift from the family of U-Thant,
    Secretary General of the
    United Nations
    from 1961-1971.
    A signed letter from the U-Thant family will
    be included in the sale.
    A near identical Indian claret jug exhibited
    Indian and Colonial Exposition 1911, Calcutta
    and
    is illustrated page 36 Wilkinson's text.
    This U-Thant tray
    features brilliantly hand raised scenes of Indian daily life,
    sailing ships, pilgrims, animals
    and Hindu scenes.
    Completely hand crafted
    and signed.
    It has never been monogrammed.
    This Indian sterling silver U-Thant family presentation tea tray is 18 1/2 inches
    and weighs a bit under 61 standard ounces.
    In fine condition.
    Rich sterling patina.
    Retains the original hand decorated detail.
