Men's Handwoven Wool Nahuala Morral bag

Description

Expertly woven by a man of the Quiche/Kiche Maya ethnic group. Purchased on a hill from a man selling in 1971.  A  unique example of a craft taught for generations.  Men in this area are often seen with one of these on their shoulders.  This one was purchased for our collection and never worn.  The last photo shows where the knitting stitch had become disconnected.  It was repaired with thread and should be restored with a piece of yarn so the stitching does not come undone.
