    Description

    North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians ashtray.
    Includes 1948 date, presumably the year the group was founded.
    Nice blue and white logo with the state silhouette. Round, glass ashtray is intact with no chips, cracks or rough edges. Screened logo is intact.
    Today, it seems ironic a doctors' group would have a promotional ashtray. But the earlier days, 1948 through, say, the 1970s, were a different time in everyone's attitudes toward smoking. Perhaps that makes this item an interesting collectible.
    The NCAFP advocacy and lobbying group is still in business today, headquartered in Raleigh, NC.
