DISCUSSION:
A peppy little booklet for the Hostess with the Mostest with all sorts of 1920s party games, some of which actually sound like fun. Interspersed with this, of course, are ‘Honest Testimonials from Honest People’, and fun facts about Dr. Miles Nervine Tablets and his other fine pharmaceuticals. Unlike many of his counterparts, Dr. Miles was not a quack, and his company lives on- “Miles Laboratories was founded as the Dr. Miles Medical Company in Elkhart, Indiana, in 1884 by Franklin Miles, a specialist in the treatment of eye and ear disorders, with an interest in the connection of the nervous system to overall health. In 1935, the name of the company was changed to Miles Laboratories. Miles operated as an independent firm until 1979 and as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bayer AG from 1979 until 1995, when it was consolidated into the parent corporation” [Wikipedia].
Softcover. 6”x5”, 32 pages, line illustrations. Minor wear, slight stain along the top margin.
