Description
"The American Illustrated Medical Dictionary" was written by WA Newman Dorland. It was published in 1919 by WB Saunders Co, Philadelphia. It is a 10th edition. It is a leather book measuring 6.5x9" with 1201 pages that show tanning due to age. The edges of the pages have tabs for each letter of the alphabet. The maroon leather is still quite soft, but there are tears at the spine. Someone taped plastic over the cover long ago and I will put it back on to mail it. I just took it off to show the cover in the photos. There is edge wear with discoloration. The edges of the pages are dyed to match the cover and they are faded. The sewn binding is visible and the book is a bit loose, especially at the beginning, but it is intact. There are gorgeous full-color and b/w medical illustrations inside. There are a few stray pencil marks on the title page (pictured). I found a few small tears at the bottoms of the first few pages before the entries begin. This book has a great 'old' smell, not musty or smokey. It isn't perfect, but for 101 years old, I think it looks great. A wonderful old medical book.FREE PRIORITY SHIPPING with tracking IN THE US. The post office is a bit overwhelmed and their deliveries are running behind.
I noticed that media mail (books) is running especially slow.
I will keep an eye on all tracking and be in contact if there is an issue, but we must all practice patience during this trying time.
Stay well, stay safe.
