Vintage 1920's towards 30's backstrap woven in 3 panel Hulpil from Chichi Castenango Kiche Guatemala. Hand embroidered painsies, black silk yolk with wave fuschia, dark, embroidery at neck, tatty with age. Fabric for the backropund is a dark merlot colored rayon or hemp silky think twill. It has horizontal weave. Open sides, all hems are rough, to wear as is, frame as an antique textile or have the hems finished. Georgeous one of a kind peice. Exceptional embroidery in excellent condition. Cotton floss in a variety of muted to vivid color pallet.
