Vtg Large Primitive Wooden Crate Carriage Box Cargo Chest Military Ammo Footlocker Handles
Barn Find. Not quite sure exactly what this is called or what it was used for or the age of it. I did not see any
marking of any names unless it is faded and overlooked it. The only writing that I did see was the number 28 but to
me it looked as if they may have been doing some kind of math equasion really not sure.
This Rare wooden primitive box is being sold as is as found and
in good solid vintage condition
with the exception of the leg boards on the bottom will
need replaced. It also has dings, scratches and surface rust on the metal which is expected from age, use and storage.
The hardware on this piece is what caught my eye. The latches/clasps looked unique, haven't seen many if any
like these before. The box is rather big and heavy.
Approx. Measurements: 47-5/8" long x 12" tall x 19" deep weighing approx. 50lbs give or take.
All the
metal/iron
hardware on it is heavy duty pieces which is on all 4 corners of the box, along each end of the lid, the
carrying handles on each side and the L shaped brackets that is used for the hinges are on the bottom and on the lid.  There is 2 divider
slots on the inside. There could be many uses for this box such as a coffee table, for linens, blanket storage chest and much more.
